FFXIV - What to Expect In The New Year

2017 has been an exciting year for fans of Final Fantasy XIV. We’ve seen many updates and changes, such as major combat changes to PvP, two new jobs, several new raids, and primal battles. Much of which was introduced with the release of Stormblood, its second expansion.  With the year wrapping up now though, what can we expect to see in this upcoming year of 2018?

The Magic of the PvP Community

During these past few months, I’ve been enamored with PvPing in Hydaelyn, the world of Final Fantasy XIV. In the past, I always looked for a game centered specifically around PvP which lead me to avenues such as Aion, and Blade & Soul, however, when I picked up FFXIV I had planned to give up the PvP life. I just wanted a nice place to relax and enjoy the world, rather than play competitively. That worked for me for about three years or so.

The End of Season 5 - FFXIV Feast

With the end of Season 5 of The Feast, Final Fantasy XIV’s ranked PvP, rapidly approaching, I want to address some issues that are quite clear with how the game handles ranked PvP. I also want to state my hopes for what the developers will do to address these problems in future seasons.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light

As I went on my adventures in the world of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, I kept hearing talk of a Netflix series called Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light. I kept hearing nothing but good things, and I decided I had to watch it so that I could find out what all the praise was about.

Patch 4.06a and the Effect It Has On The Feast

In my last article, I shared my thoughts on some basic PvP strategies and how to survive the 4v4 Ranked Feast mode. However, thanks to the lovely patch that is 4.06a, there have been a few changes to PvP and so I feel the need to release this article as a follow-up since this is the first time they have ever updated and rebalanced PvP mid-season.

Imagining Time Mage in the world of Final Fantasy XIV

In the first part of my series, I discuss how I would have loved to see Chemist as a healer, as I think it’d spice things up a bit. I also mention how I feel there was a missed opportunity with the skill changes made to jobs in Stormblood. The simplification of the system, in particular. But now it’s time to give some love to the tanks. After all, they didn’t get a new job this expansion either.

A Look at the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest in Frankfurt

Throughout this series the one thing I can’t seem to escape is Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. I have lost track how many times it has shown up in my articles ever since it was first announced back in October of last year.
